Uncharted Heritage

 

It is not often that all of my [Dad's side of the] family is able to get together. We all live in different states, scattered throughout the country. It has been a long time since we have all seen each other, and it was the first time all the great-grandchildren were together. We tried to use this rare opportunity to capture a family photograph of the four generations.

On our first day of Christmas (December 22, 2017) we were all scheduled to go to Maw's house, but plans had to change... #shingles
On our second day of Christmas (December 23, 2017) we spent some time with Mamaw Ann and had dinner with some family and friends.

A morning in my ordinary life. Homeschooling a 2nd grader while taking care of 2-month-old twins. Teaching my 6-year-old to cook. Sera makes her own breakfast (scrambled eggs and cinnamon toast)!

Just another day, home-schooling (a 5-year-old)! And trying to figure out what was exciting enough about our day to film. :)

We had the privilege of being a part of a wedding (September 24th); John as the officiant, Sera as the impromptu flower girl, and myself as the videographer. It was an honor to be part of their special day.   

I wanted to share this documentary, made by the Stroud family.  There is alot of useful information and things to think about if you are considering a move to living off the grid.  I was especially thankful for the insight provided by their children.  If you have kids, what are some ways that you keep them excited and involved?
